All recordings in Hymns for Sunday are intended for use in live worship services. A selection of Hymns for Sunday are also available to stream on all streaming platforms for convenient enjoyment at any time.

WCF has obtained licensing from Christian Copyright Licensing International, in order to legally reproduce and distribute all copyrighted songs in Hymns for Sunday.

WCF has also obtained Public Performance Licensing from ASCAP, which permits users to legally broadcast all songs in Hymns for Sunday in public spaces (such as Ecclesias), as well as from home. This license can be viewed here.

Hymns for Sunday - Licensing FAQ

Q: Does WCF have licensing rights to use copyrighted music in Hymns for Sunday (HFS)?

A: Yes. WCF has obtained licensing that allows us to record our own covers of copyrighted music in HFS and make them available to stream on our website and via all streaming platforms.

Q: Do I, or my Ecclesia, need to obtain licensing to legally play HFS?

A: No, you do not need to obtain any licensing. WCF’s licensing allows anyone to stream HFS from our website.

Q: Can we play HFS for our entire Ecclesia when meeting in person?

A: Yes. WCF has obtained Public Performance licensing that allows HFS to be played to groups of any size, whether in public or in private.

Q: Do copyright holders of songs used in HFS receive royalty payments for the use of their music?

A: Yes. Licensing through Christian Copyright Licensing International ensures that all copyright holders are paid for the use of their music.

Q: Can I put copyrighted songs in HFS on YouTube, or any other website?

A: No. WCF’s licensing agreement only applies to streaming from our website. HFS cannot be uploaded to, or played from, any other website without first obtaining additional licensing.

Q: Are all HFS under copyright, and can only be used from the WCF website?

A: No. A majority of HFS music is in the public domain, and is not restricted to any copyright limitations. Generally speaking, a majority of the hymns found in the Christadelphian Green Book are public domain, as well as a few from the Praise the Lord book. You can refer directly to each of these books to determine if a particular hymn or song is still under copyright.
